The Worcester Educational Development Foundation’s (WEDF) Distinguished Alumni and Friends of the Worcester Public Schools Awards committee today announced its 2015 honorees to be recognized at their reception and dinner to be held at The College of the Holy Cross on Wednesday, November 4.

The city of Worcester is hosting Fall Fest on the Common. There will be scarecrow building, petting zoo, kettle corn, pie eating contest, facepaing, pumpking painting, and more.

This event is a fundraiser benefiting the Worcester Public Library’s Bookmobile, Lilly. Lilly is stocked with over 2,500 children’s books, technology and other items. Lilly will visit over 32 Worcester Public elementary schools, as well as private and charter schools during the school year.

College Readiness Program for Low-Income Students

The Worcester Public Library is partnering with Bottom Line to provide college readiness support to low-income students in the Worcester area. The programs are designed to help students navigate the admissions and financial aid process.

School-Located Influenza Clinics

The Worcester Public School Department of Nursing in coordination with the Worcester Department of Public Health will be holding Flu Clinics in all schools throughout the district during school hours. These clinics will take place during the weeks of October 19 - October 30. We invite all students to participate in this citywide flu vaccination initiative. A parent/guardian does not need to be present for your child to receive this vaccine but you are welcome to attend if you choose.

International Walk to School Day
