Dear families,

As part of the Worcester Public Schools, WFP playgroups will be closed until at least 4/6, in an effort to prevent community spread of the virus.

Please do what you can to take care of yourselves during this time. This is a new world for all of us and the change is stressful. Please do not feel any pressure from us to do more with your children at this time. Keeping your normal routines as much as possible (as crazy as that sounds right now) is as much (or more) than most of us can do right now. Be gentle with yourself as you and your family figure this out together; most of us have never been in this situation before.

There are links attached with some activities for children and we will be trying to continually post updates on Facebook as it becomes available. Feel free to use this, or not use this as is helpful to you. We are trying to provide resources, but it is easy to get overwhelmed. Statewide information is available through this link: https://www.mass.gov/lists/early-childhood-education-resources-for-families. Mass211 is continuing to operate as an information and referral service for any resident with questions about services available. Simply dial 211.

Again, feel free to ignore information that is not helpful to you at this time.

Este es un mensaje de Maureen Binienda, superintendente de las escuelas. Tal como lo expresé en mi mensaje anterior, las escuelas estarán abiertas hoy desde las 10:00am hasta las 6:00pm para que los estudiantes puedan retirar sus pertenencias, medicación y libros de texto. Los paquetes de aprendizaje extendido también estarán disponibles. Si es posible, los padres deben acompañar a los estudiantes a la escuela. La medicación controlada solamente será entregada a los padres. 

Los estudiantes de escuela intermedia y secundaria pueden retirar sus pertenencias sin estar acompañados por sus padres, pero se espera que cumplan con las normas de distanciamiento social: evitar el contacto físico y mantener una distancia de 6 pies entre unos y otros. 

Sin embargo, si usted no necesita retirar sus pertenencias, libros de texto o medicación, por favor NO venga a la escuela a recoger los paquetes de aprendizaje. Estos paquetes serán enviados a las casas por correo.

Invitamos a los estudiantes y a sus familias a ingresar con regularidad a la página web de las Escuelas Públicas de Worcester para obtener información actualizada.
