Academic Language Acquisition Laboratory B Pt 1: In this course, students will learn metacognitive and metalinguistic skills to support their overall English proficiency for a variety of academic purposes. Students will receive targeted instruction to support their overall literacy competence. Students actively work on practicing reading comprehension skills and integrated writing exercises, to improve the quality of their learning, of their written output and test taking. This course is targeted to English language learners within the developing (EPL 3), expanding (EPL 4) and bridging (EPL 5) language proficiency levels with weaker literacy skills.
