Exploring Computer Science: In this course, students will have the opportunity to explore the key topics of computer programming, web design, data analysis, and how these are integral in the IT workplace. Students, through this course, will develop the computational practices of algorithm development, problem-solving, and programming within the context of problems that are relevant to their lives. Students will also be introduced to topics such as interface design, limits of computer, and societal and ethical issues. Three themes that will be addressed include the creative nature of computing, technology as a tool for solving problems, and the relevance of computer science and its impact on society. As an honors level course, the content will be covered at an accelerated pace. Students will study topics at a deeper level and will be expected to complete more independent coursework and assignments.
