Finance & Marketing skills, Intro. to Business and Retail Operations, Financial math & Digital Applications 9: In this course, students are introduced to the world of business through principle concepts and a focus on the area of customer service. The course is designed to develop knowledge and skills in retail management through hands on experience in the school store in the areas of; purchasing, inventory management, POS systems, merchandising, advertising, pricing, sales reports and customer support. Students are also introduced to Finance, through the basics of the stock market, introduction to record keeping skills, and math applied to the financial industry with the use of a ten key calculator. This course also covers the skills in Microsoft office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. The course is designed to implement all skills learned into hands on, real life experience through on-site, community and competitive opportunities.
