Journalism I: In this course, students are introduced to popular media, their particular functions and their guiding principles. As a result of wide and frequent reading and composing during the course, students learn about the community of writers and readers that comprise our contemporary culture, preparing them to enter the discourse that is central to our democracy. As an honors level course, content will be covered at an accelerated pace. Students will study topics at a deeper level and will be expected to complete more independent coursework and assignments.
