Mandarin I

Mandarin I: In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of oral and written communication in Mandarin (Standard) Chinese. Students will practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Mandarin. Students will become familiar with Chinese culture and communities and be able to make connections and comparisons between the Chinese language and culture and their own. Students will engage in practical and functional mastery of the language through the completion of project-based assessments. As an honors level course, content will be covered at an accelerated pace. Students will study topics at a deeper level and will be expected to complete more independent coursework and assignments.
