Neuropathophysiology and Film: In the course, students will examine the biological basis of neurological disorders and how their clinical approach or case study are represented in the film. Students will focus on the biology and psychiatry of disorders in tandem with developing a critical evaluation of their representation through films such as A Beautiful Mind (John Nash with a focus on schizophrenia, and Psycho (Norman Bates and dissociative disorders) among others. As an honors level course, content will be covered at an accelerated pace. Students will study topics at a deeper level and will be expected to complete more independent coursework and assignments.
