Pre-Algebra

Pre-Algebra: In this course, students will engage in concepts addressed in Math 7 and Math 8, such as a study of properties and operations of real numbers, rational number theory, ratio and proportion, estimation, exponents, radicals, rectangular coordinates, formulas, solving linear equations and inequalities, and translating word problems into equations and inequalities. There will be an emphasis on readiness for Algebra I. As an honors-level course combining content from two full-year courses, content will be addressed at an accelerated pace. Students will study topics at a deeper level and will be expected to complete more independent coursework and assignments.
