Science K: In this course, students will use and share quantitative observations of local weather conditions to describe patterns over time; construct an argument supported by evidence for how plants and animals can change the environment; obtain information about the purpose of weather forecasting to prepare for and respond to different types of local weather; and communicate solutions to reduce the amount of natural resources and individual uses. Students will also observe and communicte that animals and plants need food, water, and air to survive and recognize that all plants and animals have a life cycle. Students will design and conduct an experiment to test the idea that different kinds of materials can be a solid or liquid, depending on temperature.
