Mathematics 1: In this course, students will learn to represent and solve problems involving addition and subtraction; understand and apply properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction; add and subtract within 20; and work with addition and subtraction equations. Students will also understand place value; use place value understanding and properties of operation to add and subtract; and extend the counting sequence. Students will measure lengths indirectly and by iterating length units; tell and write time; and represent and interpret data. Students will also learn to reason with shapes and their attributes.
