Dear Worcester Public Schools Community,
Like you, I am incredibly saddened to learn of the disturbing events that took place today at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. Schools should always be places where everyone feels safe.
Please know that if your child has questions or concerns at school, they can speak with a counselor or another trusted adult if they need help processing this tragedy. In addition, we encourage families to visit the National Association of School Psychologists website for resources in English and additional languages on how to support your child.
The safety of our students is always our top priority. The Worcester Public Schools is consistently reviewing safety and security measures to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect students and staff. We also urge everyone to speak up if they see or hear anything that could represent a potential threat to school safety.
Our thoughts and condolences are with all of those affected by the horrific events that took place today.
