Congratulations to Burncoat High School’s Yoofi Abaka Amuah, Adwoa Boateng and Katherine Defosse for medaling at the All State Boys and Girls Track and Field Championship held in Norwell ,Mass on Saturday June 26th.
Yoofi competed in the shot put (51’4’’) earning 6th place. Adwoa competed in the triple jump (35’ 10 ¾’’) for 5th place, and Katharine 100 meter hurdles (15:00 ) 5th place . In addition to being top state finishers all 3 have broken school records in their events. Yoofi has also broken the school record in the discus ,Adwoa in the long jump and Katherine in the 100 meter dash in prior qualifying meets.
Coached by Ignacio Arguello and Jane McNamara in a pandemic shortened Outdoor Track season, these student athletes excelled in the classroom as well as on the track and field.
