The following high schools with career technical education programs will hold open houses for eighth-grade students: Doherty, North, South, and Worcester Technical, beginning November 29.

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) has granted varsity status to the Worcester Public Schools’ (WPS) rugby team, the WPS Wildcats. The MIAA granted the team Division 2 status at its October 25 full board meeting.

The Pleasant Street Neighborhood Network Center is looking for youth ages 15-24 to participate in the Youth Advisory Council, a paid, six-month commitment to give Piedmont youth community a voice to speak about issues or ideas that concern them. If you are, or know of, any youth who are interested, please email PSNCC or call 774-823-3311.

Do you have what it takes to be Worcester’s next Youth Poet Laureate? Applications are due on November 12, 2023.

Doherty Memorial High School is implementing a school-wide effort to demonstrate measurable growth in students’ ability to read critically and respond thoughtfully in writing as evidenced by progress on external measures, such as the MCAS and the PSAT, and internal measures, such as the MAP and other common assessments.
