Due to the extended forecast of hot temperatures, all Worcester Public Schools will dismiss students three (3) hours early on Thursday, September 7, and Friday, September 8. There will be no half-day preschool. There are adjustments to the high school athletic schedules.

The first day of school is Monday, August 28 for grades 1-12 and Thursday, August 31, for pre-kindergarten (pre-K) and kindergarten. We are writing to provide you with updates on back-to-school resources, accessing the WooEdu portal, bus routes, and information for families of the former La Familia School who are merging with Chandler Magnet Elementary.

On July 25, 2023, all students in the Worcester Public Schools were issued a $120 payment for food through the Pandemic EBT Program (P-EBT). P-BET funds are to help you buy food for your student or family.
Instructional Focus
Our school wide focus is to have Midland Street School students show measurable growth in their ability to read and write with understanding at grade level and be math fact fluent by grade 3. This will be achieved through the use of a common set of school wide instructional strategies in reading, writing and mathematics as measured by formative and summative assessments.
