The following high schools with career technical education programs will hold open houses for eighth-grade students: Doherty, North, South, and Worcester Technical, beginning November 29.

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) has granted varsity status to the Worcester Public Schools’ (WPS) rugby team, the WPS Wildcats. The MIAA granted the team Division 2 status at its October 25 full board meeting.

The Pleasant Street Neighborhood Network Center is looking for youth ages 15-24 to participate in the Youth Advisory Council, a paid, six-month commitment to give Piedmont youth community a voice to speak about issues or ideas that concern them. Due to the extended forecast of hot temperatures, all Worcester Public Schools will dismiss students three (3) hours early on Thursday, September 7, and Friday, September 8. There will be no half-day preschool. There are adjustments to the high school athletic schedules.
