The Standing Committee on Finance and Operations met at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Durkin Administration Building in Room 410.

The Standing Committee on Teaching, Learning and Student Supports met at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, at the Durkin Administration Building in Room 410.

Response of the Administration to the motion to consider providing language in the School Choice Policy that would address the special preference for inter-district students who are siblings of School Choice students in a particular school.

Response of the Administration to a request to seek grant opportunities for free driver’s education courses, in conjunction with input from the petitioner Lorenzo Hernandez.

To explore the feasibility of reinstituting parent liaisons in each of the schools.

To forward letters of recognition to:

−     Tatnuck Magnet School robotics team for qualifying for the VEX IQ World Championship which will take place in Lousiville, Ky from April 29   to May 1, 2018.           (Mr. Monfredo)

−     Joseph Cunha, a teacher at Flagg Street School and host of Hoops for Hurricanes, on his selection as a “Hurricane Hero”by the Red Cross of Central Massachusetts.          (Mr. O’Connell)

To consider participating in the Massachusetts Assistance Program for Lead in School Drinking Water, sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, in partnership with the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Request that the School Committee forward letters to the State Delegation in support of Senate Bill #2325, An Act Modernizing the Foundation Budget for the 21^st Century.
