Response of the Administration to the request to make certain that the grounds at City View School and Belmont Street Community School are well trimmed.

Response of the Administration to the request to provide a report on the progress or completion of painting crosswalks near schools, especially Belmont Street Community School’s crosswalk.

Response of the Administration to the request to determine whether to restore, or to remove, the “guard shack” at Burncoat High School.

To consider amending the prior fiscal year payment for an Instructional Assistant from $6,220.01 to $6,376.23.

To recognize and observe International Walk to School Day, celebrated on October 5 this year.

Request that the Administration give a high priority in the next budget session to adding at least five additional kindergarten Instructional Assistants each year starting with level three schools until all kindergarten classes have an Instructional Assistant.

To accept the Financial Education Innovation Fund Grant in the amount of $5,000 from the State Treasurer’s Financial Education Innovation Funds.

To approve a prior fiscal year payment in the amount of $301.50 made payable to ABACS, LLC for services rendered to students in June 2015.

Request that the Administration consider inviting high school students to sing the National Anthem at School Committee Meetings.

To accept the following donations for Tatnuck Magnet School in the total amount of $633.51:$11.01 from P&J Vending

To accept a donation in the amount of $500.00 from UMASS Medical School for the Healthy Kids & Family Project at Burncoat Street Preparatory School.

Request that the Worcester Public Schools participate in the “National Education Support Professionals” Day on November 16th with an email and a proclamation from the Mayor thanking our paraprofessionals, office workers, instructional assistants, custodians, cafeteria workers, nutritionists, trade workers, security guards and bus drivers for all that they do for the school system.

To authorize the Administration to enter into contracts for five years for the lease of up to ten special education school buses.

To accept a donation from the Sarah Daniels Petit and William O. Petit, Jr. Fund of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation in the amount of $5,940.00 for Worcester Technical High School.

Request that the Administration send an email to all school nurses to congratulate them for being among the Massachusetts School Nurses to receive the “Children’s Vision Massachusetts Recognition Award” in the category of “School Vision Champions” by the Children’s Visions Massachusetts Coalition.

To accept a donation in the amount of $500.00 from UMASS Medical School for Canterbury Street Magnet Computer-Based School.

Request that the Administration drop the appeal and allow PCB testing at Burncoat High School and Doherty Memorial High School this school year and do what is necessary to correct the problem.

Request that the Administration provide a report regarding the level of involvement of the Worcester Public Schools in the National Manufacturing Day on October 7, 2016.

Request that the Administration consider the feasibility of establishing a citywide girl’s ice hockey team.

To recognize, with gratitude and appreciation, the twenty-five employees of UMass Memorial Medical Center and the University of Massachusetts Medical School who landscaped and gardened the grounds of Belmont Street Community School as part of the United Way “Day of Caring”.

To recognize September 21, 2017 as “Peace Day” in the Worcester Public Schools, pursuant to Senate Bill No. 2181.

To accept a donation in the amount of $500.00 from UMASS Medical School for the Health Kids & Family Project at Lincoln Street School.

To accept a donation in the amount of $100.00 from Patience Agyapong for Tatnuck Magnet School.

To discuss the Worcester Public School policy on employees wearing political attire; including but not limited to political t-shirts, hats and buttons.

To consider approval of a prior fiscal year payment in the amount of $1,334.00 for a Summer 2016 Cohort provided by the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators (MAVA).

To accept the High School Chemistry Classroom Grant in the amount of $1,468 to increase the overall efficiency of lab procedures and curriculum during the school year.

Request that the School Committee review the Job Description of an Applied Behavioral Analyst (ABA) and indicate the way in which these positions are budgeted.

Request that the Administration make a presentation regarding the Safe Schools Summit, sponsored by District Attorney Joseph Early, which took place at Worcester Technical High School.
