To congratulate, with gratitude and appreciation, the varsity and junior varsity field hockey teams of Burncoat High School and Doherty Memorial High School, for their combined commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and for their recognition with a “High 5” from WCVB-TV for their actions “non sibi” – “not for oneself” – in appreciation of Erin Coonan, Burncoat High School Class of 1999.

Request that the Administration forward letters of congratulations to S.O.F.A (Save Our Fine Arts) for the sponsorship of “Fame”, the Fine Arts Magnet Extravaganza, held at Worcester Technical High School and to the students and staff at Worcester Arts Magnet School, Burncoat Middle School, and Burncoat High School who participated in this outstanding event.

To set a date to recognize and congratulate the following students of the Worcester Public Schools who received awards and commendations at the Central Massachusetts Senior Music Festival, in competition with more than 900 high school students from throughout Worcester County, and who will now participate in the Central District Music Festival Concert at Mechanics Hall on Saturday, January 17, 2015:

To forward a letter of congratulations to the TEDx North High School Team organizers for their presentation on “Justice, for Self, Others and the World”.

Request that the Administration forward a letter of thanks to the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Brace Book Company for its generous donation of children’s books to the many social agencies in the Worcester area and to the Worcester Public Schools.

To discuss “silent lunch” procedures in some of our schools.

Request that the Grounds Crew of the Worcester Public Schools clean and trim the grounds at City View School in the Spring.

Request that the Administration provide an update on the School Facilities Master Plan, which was last updated in February 2012, to include renovation projects, accomplishments, long-term planning and savings reductions in energy costs.

To consider approval of a prior fiscal year payment for a nurse in the amount of $5,698.70.

To set a date to congratulate Mary-Margaret Ladd Mara, a pre-kindergarten teacher at the Chandler Magnet School, upon her selection as a recipient of the Massachusetts State Universities Alumni Recognition Award for 2014.

To request approval for a prior fiscal year payment for Stetson School in the amount of $20,381.22.

To consider a status report on the Elm Park Community School’s Level 4 work.

To discuss strategy with respect to collective bargaining for Cafeteria Workers, if an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the collective bargaining position of the School Committee and the chair so declares.To discuss strategy in preparation for contract negotiations with nonunion personnel and to conduct negotiations with nonunion personnel – Superintendent.
