Notification of the In-Person Lottery for acceptance into 2023-2024 South High Community School’s Chapter 74 programs. The purpose of the in-person lottery is to show transparency and confidence in the acceptance process to our program.

Time:

Time: Early Childhood 1:45 - 2:00 pm (20 spots)
Culinary Arts: 2:00 - 2:15 pm (30 spots)
Diesel: 2:15 - 2:30 pm (30 spots)

Process of the student’s acceptance:

1. All applicants will be assigned a “lottery number.”
2. Between March 28 to April 2, 2023, we will e-mail and mail a letter informing you of your lottery number, your qualified tier, and the program to which you applied.
3. The Student’s number is written onto a card and put into a box according to their tier (tier 1, tier 2, tier 3).
4. At the public lottery, an administrator will randomly pull a card and announce the selection from Tier 1 until they reach the allotted numbers of “spots” for each program. In the case of remaining “spots” available, the administrator will move onto Tier 2 and randomly select until the “spots” are filled and so on to Tier 3, if necessary. All remaining students will be placed onto a waiting list by Tier level, and another lottery will be conducted at the public lottery to determine their place on the waiting list.
5. If you can not attend the public lottery on April 11, 2023 no worries; we will e-mail and mail to the address on record an acceptance letter to those selected to each program and to those on the waiting list by April 14, 2023.
6. You will have until April 28, 2023 to respond via Google Link or mail the response form back with your decision to accept or decline.
7. On April 29, we’ll start contacting the students on the waiting list by order if need be.
