The following is the transcript from the phone message sent out by the Superintendent on Friday, December 17, 2021.
Good Evening,
This is Superintendent Binienda. The WPS had a safe school day today. We are looking forward to seeing all the students on Monday.
Here is an important health message about the FLU vaccine:In addition to COVID, positive cases of flu are being reported in our community.
- While getting a flu vaccine will not protect you against COVID-19, it will provide other benefits like lowering the risk of flu-related illness and hospitalizations.
- To help keep our school communities healthy, the flu vaccine will be offered free of charge to all WPS students this Saturday, December 18th from 10am - 2pm at Gates Lane School, and Tuesday, December 21st from 3:30pm to 6:30pm in each school quadrant: Roosevelt School, Woodland Academy, Nelson Place School, and Clark Street Community School.
- These are walk-up clinics and no appointment is necessary.
- It is recommended to download and fill out the flu consent form located on the WPS website to bring to the clinic
- A parent/guardian must be present for children under 18.
- Please refer to the WPS website for more information and contact your school nurse with any questions.
- Thank you for your commitment to keeping you and your loved ones healthy during this flu and COVID season.
