Superintendent’s Call – June 15, 2021

Good evening,This is Superintendent Binienda. This is my last Connect-Ed message to you this school year. 

We have rescheduled the postponed event for swapping out the recalled Verizon hotspots.  Verizon has recalled the hotspots that we originally distributed to families.  If you have one of the original hotspots, you must have it replaced as it may overheat.  We will eventually shut off the recalled hotspots that have not been swapped out, so please use this opportunity to have them swapped out in person.  Please bring your old hotspot and charging cord with you as it is needed to swap to a new device. 

We will be holding in-person swap outs this week at the following locations:

North High, Burncoat High, Claremont Academy, and Elm Park.

Verizon will be at these schools Wednesday through Friday this week from 3:30 PM to 8 PM.  Again please be sure to bring your old hotspot and charger with you. 

Secondly, please visit our website, worcesterschools.org and fill out our parent survey.

I want to thank all of you for partnering with the WPS this year. Together we were able to provide for our students. Have a safe, healthy and fun summer.

Remarcamos o evento adiado para a troca dos pontos de acesso com defeito da Verizon. A Verizon recolheu os pontos de acesso que originalmente distribuímos para as famílias. Se você tiver um dos pontos de acesso originais, deverá substituí-lo, pois pode superaquecer. Eventualmente, desligaremos os pontos de acesso com defeito que não foram trocados, portanto, use esta oportunidade para trocá-los pessoalmente. Traga seu ponto de acesso antigo e cabo de carregamento com você, pois eles são necessários para trocar por um novo dispositivo.

Faremos trocas presenciais esta semana nos seguintes locais:

North High, Burncoat High, Claremont Academy e Elm Park.

A Verizon estará nessas escolas de quarta a sexta-feira desta semana, das 15h30 às 20h.

Este anuncio tipo Connect-ED será el último de este año escolar. Hemos reprogramado el evento para cambiar su hotspot o aparato de internet inalámbrico de la empresa Verizon. Verizon ha retirado del mercado los primeros hotspots distribuidos a las familias. Si todavía tiene uno, tiene que reemplazarlo lo antes posible porque estos se sobrecalientan. Así que, aproveche la oportunidad para cambiar el suyo porque eventualmente desconectaremos los que no hayan sido devueltos. Además, recuerde que para recibir su nuevo Hotspot tiene que devolver el viejo junto con su cargador.

Esta semana estaremos disponibles para recibir los hotspots viejos en las siguientes escuelas:

North High, Burncoat High, Claremont Academy y Elm Park. La empresa Verizon estará presente en estas escuelas este miércoles, jueves y viernes de 3:30 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. Le exhortamos a devolver los hotspots con sus respectivos cargadores.
