Superintendent’s Call – June 6, 2021

The following is the transcript from the phone message sent out by the Superintendent on Sunday, June 6, 2021.

Good afternoon,

This is Superintendent Binienda. I am calling with important updates. Due to the high temperatures expected on Monday and Tuesday this week, the use of water fountains in all schools still not allowed to be used due to COVID guidance, and the number of schools not air conditioned, the WPS will dismiss three hours early both on Monday and Tuesday this week. There will be no half day AM/PM preschool on Monday and Tuesday. Headstart buildings will open at regular time and close at 12:30. There will be no transportation provided to or from Headstart on Monday and Tuesday. Students attending the Central MA Collaborative will be in full day session and will not be released early. WPS students will receive their lunch at school. The WPS will provide water to all students. It is also recommended your child bring additional water to school.

The WPS will be distributing second COVID vaccinations this week from Tuesday through Friday.
