Verizon Hotspots & Updated DESE Guidance

The following is the transcript from the phone message sent out by the Superintendent on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.

Good Evening,

This is Superintendent Binienda. I am calling with important updates.

The on site swap out of the recalled Verizon hotspots  has been postponed. When the new hotspots arrive, you will be notified. You are still able to swap out a hotspot by calling 800-540-4263. You can also call Roger Marshall at 508-769-7494 or email [email protected]

Yesterday, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education issued new guidance.

  • Effective Tuesday, May 18, students no longer have to wear masks when outdoors, even if distance cannot be maintained. Adults must continue to wear masks outdoors if distancing cannot be maintained. At this time, adults and students must continue to wear masks inside schools.
  • Students can now share classroom materials.
  • In alignment with state guidance, the gathering limits for school events with outside participants will be lifted starting May 29, 2021.

Thank you
