Burncoat High School
Overview
Burncoat High School offers two programs that are available for students currently attending South High.
Hanover Insurance Academy of the Arts
Hanover Insurance Academy of the Arts at Burncoat is an advanced academic academy that is integrated in visual and media arts, dance, music, and theater. It is hosted at Burncoat Middle School for grades 7-8, and Burncoat High School for grades 9-12. While the program begins in grade 7, there are limited seats available at grade 9.
The Hanover Insurance Academy of the Arts at Burncoat High School offers students a seamless transition into their advanced academic and artistic studies. Academy students at the high school level will declare their artistic major for their four years of study. This major will be the focus of their artistic endeavors.
Burncoat Arts Magnet Program
Burncoat High School's arts programming draws students from around the city. Students who are currently attending Sullivan Middle would have to apply for a Voluntary Transfer to be accepted into the Burncoat Arts Magnet program.
