About Gates Lane

Gates Lane School serves 547 scholars in preschool through grade 6 in 2024-25. It is a vibrant learning community that proudly serves as a hub for the district’s Specialized Approaches to Individual Learning (SAIL) program. Our SAIL program supports students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade diagnosed with autism (ASD), using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies to create individualized learning experiences. Students receive tailored support ranging from full inclusion in general education classrooms to specialized instruction in a structured setting.

At Gates Lane, we believe in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where every scholar can thrive. Our dedicated educators, including special education teachers and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), work collaboratively to meet each child's unique needs. Beyond SAIL, we are a community that values curiosity, collaboration, and creativity—ensuring that all students develop the skills they need for success.

Instructional Focus

A coordinated school-wide effort to have all Gates Lane students read, comprehend, and respond thoughtfully, both orally and in writing. This will be achieved through a consistent and systematic standards based set of school wide teaching practices. Students’ progress will be measured by formative assessments (student work, STAR testing and BAS), and the summative assessment of MCAS.
