🚸A Colorful Crosswalk at Vernon Hill!
🌈Vernon Hill Elementary School had a temporary brightly colored crosswalk painted in front of the school on Providence Street thanks to the City of Worcester’s Vision Zero Initiative.
Students selected the design and colors of purple, blue, and yellow for the temporary crosswalk and intersection box prior to it being painted on June 10.
The student creativity helped educated our youngest residents about watching for traffic and safely crossing the street.
It’s all part of an initiative to reduce traffic accidents and promote pedestrian safety.
The installation was implemented by the City’s Department of Transportation and Mobility’s Vision Zero Project Team.
Partners included Worcester Public Schools, Safe Routes to School, MassBike, and the consultant team of Stantec and Speck Dempsey.
