The Worcester Public Schools wishes a joyous retirement to Ivonne Perez, the Chief Diversity Officer, who has worked in the district since 2004 and in education for more than three decades. She was awarded the Key to the City by Mayor Joseph Petty at the School Committee meeting on Thursday, September 7. View more photos on Facebook.
Ms. Perez was a leader in the development of Dual Language program at Chandler Magnet Elementary, where she served as Principal from 2004-2020.
Since 2020, she has served as Chief Diversity Officer for WPS. She has worked with numerous community organizations to ensure diverse perspectives are included in the operations of our schools.
Ms. Perez’s successor is Dr. Kimberlee Henry, whose title is Chief Equity Officer. She began in her role last month.
