Worcester East Middle School guidance counselors visit 6th grade classes in March to schedule students for middle school.
6 grade teacher recommendations
We value the teacher's input because they know your strengths and weaknesses, work ethic and academic performance
Your family's input
You will either be placed in all college-level classes or all honors-level classes. If you are placed in a college level class, but have shown exceptional motivation, hard work and dedication, your teachers may recommend you enter Honors Classes for 8 grade.
College level classes are the basic curriculum from Worcester Public Schools. Students who take these classes will gain the necessary skills it takes to be successful in college. Students in college level classes will receive the support and reinforcement that will lead to success in a challenging environment.
Honors level classes are for self-motivated learners who will work independently on a variety of assignments and long-term projects. To take these classes, students must have shown that they have a positive attitude, are hard workers and believe that they can succeed no matter the challenge.
