Career and Vocational Technical Education
Chapter 74 Programs at South High Community School
South High Community School offers three Chapter 74 career/vocational technical education (CVTE) pathways: Culinary Arts, Diesel Technology, and Early Childhood Education.
Over the course of four years, students are exposed to a workforce environment. They will earn industry-recognized credentials and gain workforce experience through Cooperative Education, networking with industry professionals, and attending guest lectures and field trips.
All programs are open for application midway through a student's eighth-grade year. Acceptance occurs through a lottery process.
Each program is a 900-hour, four-year commitment.
By the end of their high school careers, students will be prepared to choose a career pathway, advance their education through higher learning at a college or university, or through military service.
