Twenty nine students in Worcester Public Schools — who attend Burncoat, Doherty, and South high schools — have been recognized for their musical skills by the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) and invited to perform at the Central Massachusetts Senior Music Festival on January 13, 2024 at Mechanics Hall.
Sixteen of those students are eligible to audition for MMEA’s annual All State Concert, which will be held at Boston’s Symphony Hall on March 23 and represent the best student musicians in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
About 1,400 students from 60 high schools participate in this audition process, and approximately 400 are selected for the senior division festival.
The students who received the “All State Recommendations” are eligible to audition and perform in the All State Music Festival; they scored in the top half of all students who auditioned.
