Drinking Water Safety
Testing Lead and Copper in Drinking Water
Since 2016, the Worcester Public Schools has voluntarily participated in Massachusetts Assistance Program for Lead in School Drinking Water to proactively test for lead and copper in drinking water.
Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) provides technical assistance to ensure that public school districts can sample the taps and water fountains in their schools, and to identify any results that show lead and copper contamination over the action level.
Following the testing, the results are shared publicly with parents/guardians and staff at each school on this website and via letter.
