The Budget Office oversees the finances of the Worcester Public Schools, which had an annual budget of $552 million in fiscal year 2024. The Office works closely with district departments and schools to make budgetary decisions for the upcoming fiscal year to ensure funds are used responsibly, efficiently, and effectively.

For the past 11 years, the WPS Budget Office has received the Meritorious Budget Award from the Association of School Business Officials for its transparent and thorough presentation of the district's annual budget in the Annual Budget Book.
