Program of Studies: English Language Arts
Program Mission/Purpose
Through a balanced approach to literacy, English Language Arts education in the Worcester Public Schools empowers students to think critically and strategically, communicate effectively, and fully support arguments. Students will read, comprehend, and critique a range of complex texts and media, write and present for various audiences and purposes, as well as develop habits of reading for enjoyment.
Overarching Evidence
Students will be able to read and comprehend a range of increasingly complex text in order to communicate ideas effectively in writing by using text-based evidence.
