The City is about to negotiate a new contract with Spectrum-Charter and is seeking input from the public on how cable access television serves the needs of the community.
Spectrum-Charter’s franchise fees are directly used to fund Worcester Educational Access Television (WEA-TV Channels 11 and 191), which broadcasts events and public meetings for the Worcester Public Schools. WEA-TV provides coverage of numerous school events throughout the year.
The funding also supports Worcester Government Television (Ch. 192) which broadcast public government meetings; and Worcester Public Access Television (Ch. 194) which hosts various programming from members of the community.
