Children ages 3 and 4 years old can receive screenings by professional staff if parents/guardians are concerned about development in the following areas:

Learning
Speech and Language
Behavior
Gross and Fine Motor Skills

Screenings are available by appointment on Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26, from 9:00 AM-1:30 PM, at Worcester Arts Magnet School, 315 Saint Nichols Avenue.

(Please note that students entering Kindergarten in August 2025 will be screened in their schools in the fall of 2025.)

Child Find: Under federal law, all public schools are required to actively look for, find, and evaluate infants, toddlers, children, and young adults up to age 21 who may have a disability and who may require special education services. At Worcester Public Schools, it is our responsibility to identify any children who are Worcester residents who may have a disability—regardless of severity. WPS is also required to evaluate those children to determine if they are eligible for special education or related services under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) or 603 CMR 28 (Massachusetts Special Education Regulations).
