Members of the Worcester Public Schools Budget Office hold certificates of recognition from the Worcester School Committee during its meeting on Thursday, January 18.

Congratulations to the Worcester Public Schools’ Budget Office for receiving the 2023-2024 Meritorious Budget Award from the Association of School Business Officials – for the eleventh year in a row!

Under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent Brian Allen and Budget Director Sara Consalvo, the team was awarded for the level of thorough detail included in last year’s annual Worcester Public Schools Budget Book, which outlines all aspects of the district’s budget.

They were recognized at the Worcester School Committee meeting on Thursday.

Fewer than 150 school districts nationwide receive the ASBO award. Superintendent Rachel Monárrez noted that local districts from around the Commonwealth often cite Worcester’s budget book as a reference for their work.
