Dear Worcester Public Schools Staff,
As the holidays approach, and in the spirit of nurturing a culture of belonging and wellness, all Worcester Public Schools offices will be closed on the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 24, and the day after Christmas, Tuesday, December 26, which is also Boxing Day and the beginning of Kwanzaa. Prior to now, these were considered working days for year-round staff.
All offices, including the Durkin Administration Building, will be closed on November 24 and December 26. We will post signage and remind staff and families about the closure dates.
If you are a staff member who has already requested time off for these days, please ask your supervisor to adjust the request(s) in Aesop/Frontline.
These changes are in alignment with the new policies set in place at City Hall. WPS will work to formalize these two days as non-working days for next year and beyond.
We hope all of our families and staff enjoy a well-deserved break and time for togetherness with family and loved ones this holiday season.
