Summer School Bus Information
Summer School bus information will be available through the WooEdu Parent Portal for your child beginning on Sunday, June 25.
If you are not able to find the information through the Parent Portal, you can contact the district Transportation Department at 508-799-3241. The office will open at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 26.
If you need assistance accessing the Parent Portal or have other summer school questions, please call the District Office at 508-799-3499.
Elementary

The theme for Elementary Programs is the Celebration of Language. Students rising in grades 1-5 will explore the many ways that language has been used to communicate, express, and create throughout history. They will also participate in Math Explorations and Enrichment Activities.

Early College Summer Academy
July 31-August 4 (Session 1), August 7-11 (Session 2)
Grades 9 & 10
This FREE program is available for rising freshmen and sophomores who are interested in possibly attending the Early College Program, in which they receive college credits during high school.
Students participate in workshops, lab experiments, and hands-on learning in a college environment. Located at Worcester State University. Breakfast, lunch, and transportation provided.

Worcester UNITES

This program is free for Worcester Public Schools students in grades 4-12 who have studied an instrument for at least one year. Students will participate in sectionals, lessons, and ensemble work with other students from throughout the Worcester Public Schools. In addition, we will also have plenty of fun!

Non-WPS Summer Programs
Fitness in the Parks
June 5 – August 27
All ages
Worcester Fitness in the Parks is a FREE 12-week program presented by the City of Worcester Department of Health and Human Services and Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, in partnership with the YMCA of Central Massachusetts and YWCA of Central Massachusetts. The goal of this program is to create a healthier Worcester by providing residents with opportunities to engage in healthy eating, active living, and community building.
Girls Basketball Camp

Ages 6-18
The Worcester State Womens Basketball Team will be hosting a week long girls basketball summer camp at Worcester State University for those ages 6-18. The camp is designed to allow current and prospective basketball players to receive instruction to develop fundamental skills through individual and team skills, games and special contests.

YouthConnect Summer Evening Program

ATLAS

Students entering 6th- 9th grade
The Audre Lorde Transformative Arts School (ALTAS) is a FREE summer learning opportunity for youth to engage in arts-integrated, literacy-rich, justice-oriented and community-based projects and get social-emotional support and leadership experience. ALTAS will be hosted at Clark University and serve a cohort of middle school participants (students entering 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th grade in the fall).

Youth Effect Summer Youth Program – Be a Star
July 5 – August 10
Ages 8-17
Youth Effect Summer Youth Program is a free initiative of South East Asian Coalition that will be offering a summer program for kids ages 8-17. It will take place from July 5th – August 10 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. They will run two cohorts, one from 10am-2pm and one from 2pm-7pm. Activities include drawing and painting, mentoring, sports, and gardening. The program will take place at 50 Portland St #521 in Worcester, MA 01608.

ACE Summer Reading Program
July 10 – August 4
Grades 3-12
Students will work on completing their WPS summer reading requirement and engage in reading, thinking, writing and having fun with books; playing sports, games and doing computer activities; robotics, making art, and doing field trips. Monday thru Thursday from noon to 4:30pm. Lunch will be provided.

ACE Workforce Development Program
July 10 – August 4
Grades 10-12
Students will explore the job application process with a goal of getting a job. They will engage in activities such as: Producing a resume and cover letter, practicing completing applications, practicing interviewing skills, learning about finding, and applying for jobs and field trips. Monday thru Thursday from 10am to noon. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
