WORCESTER – Wednesday, July 24, 2024 –  Worcester Public Schools (WPS) is celebrating a significant achievement as the district’s Advanced Placement (AP) scores, released this month, show a three-year high in student participation and qualifying scores across all high schools. This improvement underscores the district’s efforts to expand AP opportunities and enhance academic performance.

Over the past year, the percentage of students scoring a qualifying score of 3 or higher increased by 6%. This growth is attributed to the collaborative efforts of the WPS College and Career Office and the hard-working educators and students in our high schools. The district administered 400 additional exams when compared to the previous year, increased enrollment in AP courses, and added more AP course offerings. Every school in the district demonstrated overall improvement.
