WORCESTER — Worcester Public Schools recently graduated its first cohort of parents and caregivers from the Family Institute for Student Success (FISS). Spearheaded by the Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE), FISS offered six sessions designed to equip families with tools and strategies to better support their children academically and emotionally; this underscores WPS’s dedication to fostering strong family-school partnerships to enhance student achievement.

The inaugural FISS graduation ceremony took place at Worcester Dual Language Magnet School, celebrating the 41 caregivers who completed the program.

FISS welcomed caregivers from diverse backgrounds, with 29 Spanish-speaking and 12 English-speaking participants engaging in the sessions. The success of the program was made possible through the steadfast collaboration with Principal Suzanna Resendes of Worcester Dual Language Magnet School, whose support was instrumental in bringing FACE's vision to life. The program received support from the Worcester Education Collaborative.
