Burncoat High School seniors Daniel Parke and Jayden Bordes were recently accepted into the prestigious NAfME All Eastern Mixed Choir, which is set to perform at the All Eastern Music Festival in Hartford, Connecticut on April 24-27.

The All Eastern Mixed Choir is part of the All Eastern Honors Ensemble which brings together talented student musicians from states across the Northeast, including Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware,  Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Daniel and Jayden were selected from over 2,000 applicants across six instrumental and vocal ensembles, making them two of 173 vocalists chosen for the Mixed Choir. They both will be joining the All Eastern Mixed Choir as bass singers.

To qualify, Daniel and Jayden first had to earn spots in the Central District and All State Music Festivals before applying and ultimately being accepted into All Eastern. Only 20 students from Massachusetts were selected for the All Eastern Honors Mixed Choir.

Daniel and Jayden excelled in auditions, scoring in the top 40% at the District Level and demonstrating exceptional talent at the All-State auditions in 2024.

"We are incredibly proud of Daniel and Jayden for their dedication, talent, and hard work in earning a spot in such a prestigious ensemble,” said Lisa Leach, WPS Curriculum Liaison for Performing Arts. “This achievement speaks volumes about their passion for music and the exceptional music learning and opportunities available in the Worcester Public Schools. We can’t wait to see them perform at the All Eastern Music Festival later this year!

Congratulations to Daniel and Jayden on this achievement!
