Multilingual Accelerated Summer Academy (for English Learners and students in Dual/TBE programs)

Elementary

Multilingual Accelerated Summer Academy:

NEW CITIZENS CENTER (NCC) ELEMENTARY

  • June 17th through July 8th (15 days, no school on July 3rd) from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • For English Learner students enrolled in the NCC Elementary program (grades 2 to 6) during the 2019-2020 school year.
  • Students will be provided with remote learning opportunities and activities that focus on English language and literacy development, numeracy, and technology skills all while being supported by WPS teachers.

Multilingual Accelerated Summer Academy:

DUAL LANGUAGE (DL) ELEMENTARY

Roosevelt, Chandler Magnet, Woodland Academy

  • June 17th through July 8th (15 days, no school on July 3rd) from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • For students enrolled in the Dual Language program (grades K to 6) during the 2019-2020 school year.
  • Students will be provided with remote learning opportunities and activities that focus on Spanish language and literacy development through the arts: poetry, music, and visual arts.

Multilingual Accelerated Summer Academy:

TRANSITIONAL BILINGUAL EDUCATION (TBE)

Chandler Magnet

  • June 17th through July 8th (15 days, no school on July 3rd) from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • For English Learner students enrolled in the Transitional Bilingual Education(TBE) program (grades K to 6) during the 2019-2020 school year
  • Students will be provided with remote learning opportunities and activities that focus on Spanish language and literacy development through the arts: poetry, music, and visual arts. A math elective component will be included in grades 4 to to 6

Middle School

Multilingual Accelerated Summer Academy:

  • June 17th through July 8th (15 days, no school on July 3rd) from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • For English Learner students enrolled in the NCC Secondary program (grades 6 to 8) during the 2019-2020 school year.
  • Students will be provided with remote learning opportunities and activities that focus on English language and literacy development, numeracy, and technology skills all while being supported by WPS teachers.

  • June 17th through July 8th (15 days, no school on July 3rd) from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • For Spanish speaking students enrolled at Sullivan Middle (grades 7-8) and South High (grades 9-11) during the 2019-2020 school year.
  • Students will be provided with remote learning opportunities in Spanish that focus on math competency to support student’s knowledge and command of grade-level math.

  • For English Learner students attending any middle or high school in the Worcester Public Schools and enrolled in grades 8, 9 or 10 during the 2019-2020 school year.
  • Students will be provided with remote learning opportunities and activities that focus on English language and literacy development.
