Chapter 74 Career Technical Education Programs
Beginning in Fall 2024:
Construction Craft Laborers (new in 2024):
The Construction Craft Laborer program prepares students for a diverse range of roles in the construction industry. Students receive an introduction to various building trades, including carpentry, electricity, masonry, plumbing, welding, glazing, and plastering while acquiring skills related to workplace safety, blueprint reading, working with construction materials and concrete, and the safe handling of hazardous materials.
Marketing, Management & Finance (new in 2024):
The Marketing,Management and Finance program teaches students to develop an understanding of the relationship between finance, sales, marketing, merchandising, and customer service. Students Learn essential business principles and practices, with a focus on planning,promoting, and running a successful retail enterprise within the school community through the operation of a school store.
Engineering Technology Academy:
The Engineering Technology Academy prioritizes teaching the engineering design process, which involves critical analysis, problem-solving, and the development of practical solutions. This program allows for in-depth exploration of specific engineering disciplines, and introduces students to a wide array of pathways they may choose to follow at the college level.
Programming & Web Development (new in 2024):
The Programming and Web Development program offers a comprehensive introduction to the field of Computer Science. Students build a strong foundation in programming languages, web development tools, graphic design software, and tools for 3D animation and game design. The curriculum covers a range of technical skills, including software development, cybersecurity, photography, animation, webpage and app creation, and data management.
